With
offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Beijing, BAA Jet Management’s aviation
experts are at home and from both cultures – Chinese and Western – thus making
BAA Jet Management unique in understanding the best of all worlds and in providing
the highest international standards with a distinct Asian focus.
BAA (wich means Business Aviation Asia) Jet’s fleet by mid 2012
should total over 40 business jets with half of its fleet being Gulfstreams. To support this vast fleet of
business jets across Greater China, BAA currently has operations and
maintenance bases located in 7 cities: Shenzhen, Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai,
Hangzhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong. BAA has 350 dedicated employees.
So it is quite easy to imagine both
A350 XWB VIPs will be flying in/from China.
The
aircraft interior design will be done at Jet Aviation (Basel-Switzerland). Scheduled
to arrive in Basel around 2016, execution time for each aircraft interior is
estimated 18 months. Both aircraft will be managed and operated by Hong
Kong-based BAA Jet Management Ltd. The 2 A350-900 XWBs from the Airbus’ airline
production line will be configured for VIP use to become the first aircraft of
this type available to the business aviation market. After an extensive test
program followed by a reconfiguration phase at Airbus’ site, the aircraft will
be flown directly from Toulouse, France to Jet Aviation Basel where the 2
A350-900 XWBs will receive their VIP interior.
Jet
Aviation Basel is a world-renowned completions center and employs close to
1,800 professionals and offers the possibility to build a full-scale mock-up of the cabin to give the customer a
feel for the layout. In order to achieve the highest level of customization and
quality, they do much of the work by hand; the leather on seats is sewn and
glued by hand and the cabinetry shop creates lightweight luxury furniture.
Two things
are clear about the customers; the buyer has plenty of cash and a healthy
amount of patience to order an aircraft 10 years before starting to enjoy.
