Stretched A350-1000 will probably not be called A350-1100.


In a sign that any new plane would need to be carefully marketed to avoid upstaging the existing A350-1000, Airbus chief operating officer for customers John Leahy denied reports it would be called 'A350-1100'.

"There is nothing called the A350-1100 and I wouldn't call anything the 1100," he said.

    A350-1000 (or A35K) cound be called A351-800.
    A350-1100 (or A35L): A351-900.
    By analogy A321neo: A321-800 and... there are place for longer A321.

    If Leahy is to be taken seriously, then I think any deravitive or connatation to the A350 would be out. I think he was suggesting a entirely new designation.
